The Movex collaboration application suite includes enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM), business performance measurement (BPM), value chain collaboration, and e-business--although tempting to its target market, it may not likely be as profound or able to deal with the same levels of complexity as the best-of-breed concoctions or the industry’s leaders' offerings. Is Intentia Truly Industry’s First In Food Traceability?
With the acquisition of 49% of the Norwegian software company Scase, Intentia claims to be the first Enterprise Applications provider to offer an integrated system for origin tracing of food items. The announcement provides potential benefits for the livestock processing industry in the EU, but enterprises that are neither in the processing of livestock nor part of the EU will see limited application.
: incorporated into Intentia s flagship Movex Food & Beverage product suite and be further refined. Intentia touts that Scase will provide it with a combination of depth, breadth and specialized know-how in applications for managing meat, among other products, that no other supplier of business systems can offer. Market Impact Intentia is clearly trying to capitalize on the media coverage of mad cow disease and foot-and-mouth disease frenzy in the EU. While it is correct in stating that this announcement

: functionality to complement its Movex supply chain management and APP (Advanced Production Planner) applications and improves its marketability. EAM versus CMMS: What s Right for Your Company?Part Three: Analysis of IFS and Intentia
Having traditionally done implementations via their product delivery organization, IFS and Intentia also have long exhibited a focus on product quality and customer satisfaction, which manifests into a lasting relationship with each client. However like other enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) software vendors, Intentia and IFS need to string together several quarters of profitability to restore consumer confidence and long-term stability.
: centric approach in its Movex software until 1999, when it released a multi-platform version of Movex which was written in Java and included an optional web interface. AS/400 Users’ “Phantom Limb” Pains » The TEC Blog
at 9:03 pm # Movex (Lawson) is traditionally run in an iSeries / AS400 / System i environment, although I believe it also runs on Windows and Unix now. The current release is Java code, but much of this has been ported from RPG, a proprietary IBM language that was most popular on the AS/400 (and before that, System 38). I have not been an iSeries user for about 5 years, but at that stage the iSeries held the top benchmarks for java performance and also the highest number of concurrent Lotus Notes users.
