A Definition of Data Warehousing
There is a great deal of confusion over the meaning of data warehousing. Simply defined, a data warehouse is a place for data, whereas data warehousing describes the process of defining, populating, and using a data warehouse. Creating, populating, and querying a data warehouse typically carries an extremely high price tag, but the return on investment can be substantial. Over 95% of the Fortune 1000 have a data warehouse initiative underway in some form.

There Is No Execution without Integration
There is No Execution without Integration. Find IT Reports, Case Studies, and Other Resources Linked to the Manufacturing Execution. In fast-paced, low-margin manufacturing environments, companies must embrace technology in order to solidify or gain competitive advantages. It is equally important to avoid adopting technology for technology’s sake. Find out how leading companies are focusing on efficiency and cost reduction by integrating manufacturing execution systems (MES) or manufacturing intelligence (MI) with enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Requirements Definition For Package Implementations
How do you go about defining the requirements of large package systems, particularly those with the all-encompassing scope of ERP, EAM, and CRM software, and still satisfy the needs to the project team, the user community, and executive management? It’s a balancing act rivaling the circus performer trying to keep all of the plates spinning at once. While it is difficult to say one aspect of a project plan is more important than another, accurately and completely defining the needs to be fulfilled by the software is critical to the overall success of the implementation and the longevity of software. This article outlines a logical process for defining the requirements and keeping the plates spinning.

Industry Vertical Alone Does Not Define the Supply Chain
Software vendors are now offering functionality specifically designed for various industries. And when selecting a supply chain planning (SCP) solution, it’s obviously important to take these solutions into account. However, this alone does not guarantee the best-fit solution for your business; it’s equally important to ensure that the solution is designed to address your specific supply chain issues.

Active Execution Management--Delivering on the RFID Promise
Active Execution Management captures radio frequency identification (RFID) and electronic product code (EPC) data and integrates it into the supply chain business process. AXM associates individual EPC events (the observation of an EPC tag at an RFID reader) with the supply chain transaction that is currently being executed and then determines if that supply chain transaction is executing as planned. AXM is able to make this determination by comparing key performance indicators of the supply chain transaction with the characteristics of the EPC event. The paper describes multiple business cases, such as promotions management, deductions management, complex international shipments, and spoilage management, and shows how RFID data can be leveraged to improve supply chain performance.
